if MA endorse a minium std for a race , "they will have to split the Nationals", it's that simple! and my thinking is, it should be a given that MA has a std requirement for all National Championships and should allready be in the MOM's.
this one simple act of making them determine this, would bring about the split, and then its back to where
Cheers Worms,

Yes it should be consituational and put into the MOM's,do you want the split Worms or just 15+1 ??
MA can only see how it goes if it doesnt work, its for us to make a change again.

Also you put this sentence in and didnt seem to finish it.and then its back to where.
cheers A

It's all going to fall flat on it's arse if this whole disorganised shitfight starts up again.
With the utmost respect Worms, I think you've got it arse about....you're so obsessed with this 15+1 thing you can't see the logic. The split has to come first before any consideration of race length would be undertaken. For you to think that all that has to be done is to ratify a specific race length and the split will automatically follow shows a severe lack of understanding of how motorcycle politics and 'the system' works.

We know that WA have and will most probably continue to support a pre '75 split so rather than trying to convince them of the benefits of a pre '78 split, we need to lobby and make sure the other state bodies get it right and vote for a pre '78 split. N.S.W. is going to be the tough one to get onside, mainly because of the personel on the NSW Dirtsports Committee (or whatever it's called these days) don't seem to want to grasp the importance of the issue and harbour some sort of distrust of the people behind the proposal. HEAVEN and Penrith clubs also need to be convinced of the benefits of the split for the same reason. I'm not sure of the status of Victoria or Queenslands state bodies philosophy on the split but whatever they thought last year, the lobbying of those committees needs to start now for a whole new ballgame.

Let's not make the same mistake we made during the last proposal submission of thinking that the mythical 'somebody else has lobbied on our behalf. It's up to all of us to get the message through to our clubs and state bodies in a logical and forthright manner. You can't lobby too much with important proposals like this.

your right firko, this whole 15mins things a pile of crap if you cant fit the races into the weekend.

Looking at your program from Cannondale Worms, all races were based on laps not time.
So why if all this was so important, didnt you show us all how it was to be done and do it at those nats, you where the race sec ? ???

You currently have to offer min 29 seperate events, so unless you have a short track or or cut back to 2 rounds nothing can happen till you officially have a cut back in the events that you have to get through, even if you push it out over 3 days.( which is too long i reckon)  :)

cutting it back to pre 78 first, means you can run a much better 2 day event, then you can screw around with the lenght of the races as much as you like to control the entertainment/schedule

cart before the horse and all that.

ok my logic' is first we are talking about National championships governed by MA, guidelines are set out by MA in the MOM's, all other class's have a definition of what consitutes a race  but nothing is avaiable from MA which defines a race for VMX titles, why? if they said ok all races to be 10 min plus 1 lap or whatever, then all of a sudden the Nationals need to be split because no one could run the event, even in 4 days, all I am saying is make our governing body make a decision, they make more profit from the event than anybody else, they oversee the governing rules, it is so simple in my eyes.

sorry for my opinion, the split needs to happen

nice touch Allison, you are right Fiko

but what if MA turns around and says, the event will run over 2 rounds and not 3, so now you can fit it into a 3 day event? you make it fit, if you want the event.

more power to Cols proposal, i just want to see better guidelines and maybe freaky, you will understand after running the event.

I am done with it, goodluck.

This thread is "2011 VMX Nats"--it's a done deal. This discussion is now relevant to 2012 & beyond.
The reason we don't have the SPLIT now is simple. While posts on this forum suggested overwhelming support for the proposal ,very few actually did anything about it. Result of those that did try to get action through the "proper channels"were ,from known facts & anecdotal information,as follows:-
Clubs--Brisbane MCC---for---letter to MQ too late.
QVMX             for    letters to MQ & MA lost in the system.
WAVMX           for    letter to MA on time
               Heaven         against  "           "       "
States    Qld          Qld Historic Committee for the proposal-submission lost in MQ office, found & sent to MA too late
NSW      MNSW against.Other relevant NSW clubs not consulted so was it  representative of member's ?
MAWA      When approached "we don't have a quorum to discuss this"
Vict.,SA ,Tas  No submissions and it appears no functioning representation for our discipline.
The end result is the Classic Commision & therefore MA had no clear mandate to affect such a major change.
So for 2011,we need to support SA for the MX Nats & Brisbane D/T Nats. For 2012 look to relevant threads.

no that's a bit more accurate.  There was lot's of talk and not too many submissions and some of the submissions, as it shows, were against the split.  It is still most definitely a work in progress.  I wonder how far it will get before the decision as to where the split should be is agreed upon?
