If there's three Webers then the carbs are worth that - but they've got to be Webers, not SUs, not Strombergs, not even Dellortos.
Stadard, they're typical old Australian cars - solid, durable, unremarkable, old things.
You can tweak the engine and make it relatively fast (as this one has been), but a new XR5 Focus will blow its doors off, while using about a third as much fuel....
You can put good shocks and springs in and make them handle a heap better, but a stock poverty-pack EL Falcon will disappear on any winding road....
Like bikes, old cars have both good and bad points - good because they're simple and have lots of character, bad because they're not the cheapest option and require a lot more work to keep running (or, if you chose to just run it into the ground, you're devaluing a rare/collectable thing).
I've got lots of old cars, and I love them. But in the last few years I've learned how much easier it is to just get a newish car and drive it. Parts are everywhere, they're cheap, and you get stuff like good fuel economy, a heater that warms the car up before you get to work, easy starting in hot or cold weather, air-conditioning, etc etc.
But you're younger and more enthusiastic than my jaded old self, so maybe an HR is a good option if you're enthusiastic about it.
