I'd like to think that was the case Graeme but I reckon that the "dirt tracker" in the title gets rounded up by search engines. Either that, or my family are being kind to me and hitting it regularly...

Got the second header pipe made last night so I should be able to finish the pipes over a few nights next week.

Once they're done just need to get the right footrest bracket and the rear brake pedal made up. It's a bit busy in that area so I'll probably go with a cable rear brake. Have to find a front mounting point for the rear brake torque arm as well, but once that's all done it can be pulled down to start all the painting, powdercoating, zinc plating and polishing.

Polished up the oil pump cover which came up pretty nice so I'll probably go with polished covers, soda blasted crankcases and black heads and cylinders with the fin edges polished. I'd like the raw look on the heads and cylinders but they are quite corroded and I don't like using glass bead on any engine components.

About five weeks until Broadford so should be OK, hopefully.

After burning the midnight oil a couple of nights this week just about got the piped finished. Still need to get some perforated steel and make the mufflers and weld the baffle cones on once everything is in place. Then it's just the hanger brackets and that job's done. Making the two pipes was certainly a challenge, but they fitted up OK in the end.

Should get the pipes and right footrest and brake pedal finished this week so it can than be pulled down and the painting can start, along with the front fork mods and the engine rebuild.

Blue / White still should have the Black / White BUMBLE BEE stripes Pete,
But I suppose since you went to this much effort,
you get to chose what colour it is !

Yamaha Roadracer Callum Spriggs has a white R6 with the blue stripe with the black pinstripe
I think it needs the squares/rectangles to finish it off
Anyway Pete looking good

Couldn't agree more Graeme - if you look closely at the picture you'll see the bumble bee stripes pencilled in on the tank and seat ;)

Bultaco Astro 1972, graphics and leathers design by Royal Sherbet and rider Mike Kidd to run AMA flattrack. Kenny Roberts 1975, Tz750 champion frame shadow block or strobe block graphics ( bumble bee)designed and painted by Mike Viss.

Who was first and who's telling porkies, looks pretty net though.
