Finally got the PVL ignition which is much narrower than the old RD alternator setup so the points cover got the cut and shut treatment which gives good clearance around the gear lever.

Had to make new brackets for the coils as well

Got the pipe design just about finalised so should be able to start on that next week.

Can you go a bit quicker on the build? Been watching the progress and I'm getting anxious to see the finished bike. Looking good.

Sorry Lewis, I know it's dragging on but I'm getting it done while juggling work committments betwen here and overseas and trying to get a new house built at the same time. The house keeps me down at my new block until dark everyday and all weekend, so it doesn't leave a lot of time for project work. The good news is that when I get the house built I will have a new purpose built bike workshop and I will churn the projects out then.
If the slow progress is frustrating I can leave the updates and just post the bike in it's finished state.

All good Pete, it's been very enjoyable keeping a casual eye on the build, should be a ripper when she's done. Tasty so far.  8)

Rebuilt the shocks on the weekend - powdercoated the springs, polished the shock bodies and fitted new seals.

Made up the brackets for the front number plate, cut some numbers and fitted the plate.

My brother came over last night and helped me finalise the pipe design, so will get started on it this week, finally...

Rolled cones Graeme - made a pump pipe for a blender once and that was hard enough :(, so I'll stick with what I know this time.

Brilliant Pete. Those Marzoccis look blingo and love the cut down ignition cover. Come on Broadford, I can spend a lot more time on my 750 now I've got mum into a home. I've forgotten what its like to have a whole day to myself.

Started on the pipes last night. Made up a template for the tapered header pipe:

It looked like it would fit OK so the next thing was to draw up the cones on AutoCAD and develope the sections for the cuts. Converted the finished DWG file into BMP format and then printed it out on my sticker cutter:

Transferred the sticker onto the body steel and then cut out all the pieces with tin snips, rolled them up and welded them together:

Pretty happy until I remembered that it's a twin so have to go through it all again :(
Stick with the singles in future, I think....
