Looking good Iain...it's starting to look like a serious class contender now. Is the frame lowered? I'm toying with the idea of machining up a couple of DT1 frame kits if there's enough call for them. I like the nicely cut down clutch activator cover...neatly done. I'm disappointed I had to can my trip to the Nats so I'll have to wait until next years inaugural pre '78 Nats in Queensland to debut my Cheney and Hindall Yams in the class. It's up to you to fly the old Yamaha flag in pre '70 this year mate.

Good job Iain looks great, cant wait to see it finished.
My new DT1 is also well on its way .The motor is now finished new bearings, seals, conrod and undercut gears looks really good . Frame sand blasted and repainted with Satin Black 2 pack (run out of time for powder coating) Now I have to start putting the motor in the frame and finish with a bassoni pipe Hopefully I will get it together for a trial run at our club day 1 week before the nats. fingers crossed

cheers

No probs Nev....I've got access to an old Webco kit  so I'll make an effort to borrow and copy it. It might take a while but I'll announce it on here when they're up and running.

Ditto Firko -  especially if its' the encouragement you need ;). I'm assuming that a small production run is an easy thing rather than one off's.

Sounds like you're on to a 'good thing'.

ITS ALIVE  :o :o :o , Fired it up this arvo . But forgot the old paint the frame then forget to rub of paint on coil mounts and eng mounts , so spent almost 3 hours getting very pissed off . Im using a dt400 cdi . Now I'll pull it apart then reassemble to double check then its time to add the pretty bits . almost finished . Iain  ;D

The new YSS shocks arrived today (thanks Les Ricthers) my first new shocks Ive bought . Allways used whatever was in the spares stash.
Ducks Guts Aye.The pipe was built by the late Peter Worrell for my old DT1 of which I have scored a GYT pipe.
The last photo is for Fatboy its how Ive made a bracket to mount a modern coil instead of the old red DT1 coils
Going out to this w/ends grass track to see what falls off , to get the bugs ironed out before THE NATS!!

Looking good Iain. The bike really looks the goods with that quasi early YZ [paint job, I really hope it all goes well for you at Crystal Brook. I've been tidying my garden shed and have rediscovered all of the missing bits so I can put the DT1 from Hell back together with a stock engine, the hotty methanol engine's in the Hindall. It's tempting, especially after seeing yours. It's make a fun Classic Dirt bike with the stockish motor :).

I still haven't got my AT1 tank badges from the same crew you got yours from, I must get on to them. What's the quality like?
