New project dt1

Its 8 weeks to the Nats and  5 of the 6 are ready , Now is the time all the parts have been collected so this w/end Im going to start putting it all together . the first photo is the donor bike 1969 Dt1 non reed . the frame is 40mm lower ,down pipe by Peter Worrel , mudcatcher rims new ss spokes , Dt2mx seat and tank , 32mm carb . I'll post more photos as she comes along .

Very Interesting project. As you might recall, I have expressed on several occassions I think these types of projects and these types of Clubman racer/converted trail bikes are as important to the 'living museum' aspect of VMX as the exotic and the rare.

Steel sliders, square swing arm, steel guards :) - very OEM.  It will be interesting to see it progress. Good luck. Keep us posted. 8)

Ok so its a week late . The frame has been done ,copied one I got from Vandy . before anyone comments the wheels were done for another project so a full width hub is on its way.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    foot pegs are off a yz h  ,left side cover is dtmx 72 right side cover is 73 mx the chain guard is by Vandy,  well I copied his design

Foot note to last post I have a set of BOGES for the rear and Im going to use a set of 73 mx 250 forks , just got in the mail a rt2mx air box might try to fit it in .

Ok sundays work , I had an old dt3 tank you know the one with the lock that can make you join the venna boys choir , I cut out the screw in cap from a buggered dt400 tank and braised into the dt3 tank , the old tap had a filter and reserve position of it went and a spair plastic tank yz tap bolts straight up . photos to come

NOoooooo - ya gotta keep the original DT1 shape tank - and colours (al la Firko).

i mean really....... OLD ?   at the publish date 1970 the bike was only a year old !!!!!

MCS mini mudder.
about $30 bucks from the local bike shop
if they let you look through the MCS cataloge, you'll be able to work out the correct model/name/number for them.
i believe they used to be available in quite a few colours but may only be white now.
thats whats on the back of my blue one as picture by the pic hoarding Graeme ;D & should bolt straight onto that frame i did for you Freaky.

Cooll so far i have broke 3 rears, butnot on the track.  either loading, unloading or at home feeeking things.   only only certain one seem to take up the space and look normal.
