That front mudguard certainly doesn't look 'tidy' for a 10,000GBP bike . Looks like the wrong diameter guard . The rear of it is okay but the front looks odd - it offends my aesthetics .
That's the one I was talking about. I know the chap that built it and his work is first class. He is not a million miles form me. £10k? Bargain. Cheap when you look at what that CCM sold for the other day needing work..... Half the price of what #69 cost to build......
As for the front guard, Simon makes the mudguard stays of unequal length so that the front one pushes the guard slightly further away from the tyre to stop the mud build up and allow it to be flung out, so it is correct. I think that is the guard is a bit longer than usual which exagerates the whole effect and ok, yes, it does look a little unusual. Normally Cheney bikes have a shorter front guard, so you wouldnt notice the effect as much. It would be easier on the eye if the mudguard stays were if it were symmetrical so they guard closely followed the line of the tyre. I am sure that the seller would supply a shorter guard (about £40) or have a set of equal length stays made if you agreed to buy the bike..........!
