MA's to hold Moto Rodeo for Flood Relief
Posted: Friday, 21st January, 2011 : 11:45 AM - - 1,334 Reads
As water begins to recede in many devastated areas in both Queensland and around the Nation, the Riders' Division of Motorcycling Australia (MA) is preparing to hold three charity Motorcycle Rodeo's in: Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales.

19 February 2011 - VIC - State Motorcycle Sports Complex - Broadford
5 March 2011 - SA - Tailem Bend Motorsport Centre
27 March 2011 - NSW - Eastern Creek Raceway

The Rodeo's will consist of Motorcycle Gymkhana events, games and precision riding displays; are available for riders aged from seven years and over, and are open to all skill levels.

sounds like good old fashioned FUN

Just got back from an Aussie trip, and was impressed by the clean up efforts and spirit of all involved in Brisbane.
I am however a little perplexed by the Gillard Gov'ts proposed flood levy tax via medicare. Is the Australian Federal Govt that tight for funds??Perhaps they should defer the broadband roll out and spend it on something more pressing????

Most governments in Australia are broke and now have little income. :o

After living in Oz for 8 years up until 2007 and working for Aussie companies (and hence visiting often),I find it staggering that the Federal Govt has to increase Medicare to finance the rebuild. But I guess the $900 per person Xmas present in 2009, siphoned some cash out of the piggy bank ::).

Yes Suzuki 43, the $900 was described by a friend of mine as "a very high interest loan" which would take a generation to clean up.

This tax has nothing to do with the donations people have made, that money is for the people you have been affected by the flood.
This tax is a once-off for reconstruction of vital public infrastructure.  One way or another we will all have to pay for it.
It does not matter if the PM has Red hair or big ears ::).
