Cyclegod at least your in the same country. I on the other hand have to get a passport, drive to an international airport (argue with airport officals that my bike is hand luggage) fly out of my country to Sydney, find accomdation, find a place where I can re-build the bike, rent a camper van, get the women away from the shopping, drive from Sydney to Newcastle, find the women in the shopping area of Newcastle, rent a small car for them so they can still get around while us guys are "classic dirting" and then drive from Raymond Terrace at the end of CD-5. I have to once again find the women (but this time they will have a car) shopping in Newcastle. Drive from Newcastle to Brisbane. By the time we get there the women will be on withdrawals from shopping and have to get a fix again. I will have to get rid of the camper van, store the bikes, and then get the women folk away from the shops in Brisbane. About this time I will realise that TMBill is still at Kamp Kevlar drinking magiritas with Firko................ ;D ;D ;D.

Cyclegod, just get yourself to CD-5, bring pictures of all your bikes and ya never know, someone may loan ya a bike to have a blast on.

The triples, hubs, brake plates and throttle housing have been primed and recieved several coats of VHT black oxide. I warmed the spray can up before I used it and I dont bake the VHT as I like to let it cure for about a week in the coldest room in the house so it keeps its satin look. The bottom triple clamp is full gloss black and that has been given several coats as will. The airbox has been stripped, cleaned and put back together with black silacon in the rubber joiner. All the parts that need to be zinced are cleaned and ready to go. I have started to pull the shock apart(will as far as I can go) and I think it needs some serious work as I cant move the shalf at all. I will pull the fork legs apart tomorrow and bolt the airbox into the frame.

The triple clamps.

it was the hot-up kit for MX and YZ125, but Noguchi also built some bikes themselves. A bit like the mugen was to honda.

Dont ask me what the word actually means though, I havnt the foggiest.

At Bable Fish, Noguchi = Noguchi, so it's probably a family name.

I have been trying to get everything ready for the bike, like machining the forks, zincing, the motor was pulled down 2 days ago.
I sent the zincing away Monday 7th and it just arrived back today.

A late night last night, and one wheel laced up, the rear shock built, airbox completed and in the bike. Its slowly coming together. I will be lacing up the rear wheel today, lacuer the forks and build them up. The triples will go on the bike and the swingarm will be in the bike very soon. Its a bit early for a beer, but when I,m finished this project I will enjoy a few beers and a ride on. Maybe not in that order ;D

I hope to Firko, I have been making inquires about air freight and everything else that goes along with it. I hope to get the bike together, ride it here to make sure she runs sweet and everything is working as it should do, and then strip her down again(the bike, not Karen ;D) give it its final spruce up and pack it in a box about 1m X 1m X 600mm and send her on over.
Its been a very interesting project considering I got only had it in my head about 8 months ago and didnt have a frame, tank, wheels, airbox, seat and allot of smaller parts. But with help from friends and what I had in my own stock pile the idea has started to take shape.
The reason for doing this thread is that if I do get it to CD-5 all the people who have followed this thread will get to see it in the flesh. (Photos Lie). At the end I will try to make up a list of new parts, remade parts, restored parts and the cost of everything(now I will have to cover Karens eyes ;D) so the members who have kept following know what it has taken me to get a hopefully good little vmx bike. Of course this ride is a rider, so there are a few little things that I havnt spent much time on but they will be functional if not pretty.

hey Dj it taking shape and i admire the high build quality. been watching this thread with great interest.

i was going to do something similar and post pics of my CR rebuild progress but i
now think it is 2nd rate compared to your project and would be of little interest to the forum as its just a standard bike not a project bike.
