John Boag was also up from Victoria

It was cool to see Boagy do a loop on my Maico trials bike. He'll ride anything!

I had a go on the easy vinduro loop on Sunday arvo. All the really hard bits had been bypassed and it was ok.

But early in the first session on Saturday even on the easy loop there were some very slippery down hill parts. I had a few minor spills and one time ended up at the bottom of a muddy gully. I was absolutely buggered.

I couldnt get the bike started again and luckily the bloke who had given the talk about the vinduro loop at the riders meeting came by. He helped a fella on an Ossa that was stuck halfway up the hill then came back and got my bike started. I owe that man a beer.

It was definitely a lot harder than i expected but the memories are worth it.

mmmm Snowy..I did the the full loop on Saturday morning but it was far from a nice easy ride in the sticks :o When I got to the top of the mountain (whichever mountain that was ???) there was only about 4 or 5 sets of fresh tracks at most. Mind you descending the mountain was sheer bliss and some of the tight twisty bits in the lower paddocks and the many creek crossings were absolute heaven and super picturesque. I cheated though and took the RL, I was passed in the lower sections but I had the near all the tracks to myself excepting another fast guy on a PE400. At one stage I was thinking "oh joy! I must be insane!!, if I break down or get stuck up here it's gonna take me all bloody weekend to get me and my bike out!!" ::) fortunately that's all the motivation I need to press on..mission completed 8) Bottom line, the enduro loop was testing. It felt more like 180k's not just 8 but it was also a hell of lot of fun ;D ;D ;D I wouldn't like to ride it all day or I'd be in bed very early that night and riding the next day could be out of the question :D

I only did the Enduro loop on Saturday.

First time out, I got about 800m in, and thought "If this is the easy stuff, there's no way that I'll be trying the Hard, particularly considering that I'm by myself". So I took all of the easy options from there.

Second time out, I discovered that I had actually been on the first hard option... So on that loop, I did all of the hard bits and didn't have a drama.
I was VERY slow and cautious though. :-\

Still fun.

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

I'm presuming the above RT1 is Vandys. I had a bit a gander at it and it looked the goods, a real wolf in sheeps clothing.
I reckon it needs a proper black with red or yellow pinstripe tank to set it off but that's just my taste. It's good to see guys use RT1/DT1s as they're good things if set up properly.

I'm pissed off with myself for missing the above forum group photo shoot. I was off chatting with god knows who and got back 5 minutes later. Oh well, next year maybe :(
