Hoony spent over three hours at the Speedway/ flat track circuit. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Did you get to see the V twin Godden speedway going for it?  8) Fusing two  shit hot Godden 500cc  speedway engines together * !!! That 26+? year old monster competes against modern Speedway sidecars sometimes and is always at the front end of the field at the finish.
* The Godden twins were factory made in England for grass track and long track speedway, I have a magazine clipping and poor quality piccy of one of the 1000s fitted to a Wasp framed Sidecarcrosser !Very very nice and gentle..............

Big thanks to Drakie and all responsible for the Broadford Bonanza, It was a superb change to have so many motorcycle competition disciplines going on together.  Knockers and doom Sayers, in my opinion it was not at all a Classic Dirt clone. Ideas for change /improvement? yes I have some, A Grand Parade and group  Photo session of VMX solos and VMX sidecars maybe? Even running the full on racing Victorian Classic Speedway Titles on the Saturday Arvo maybe. . A reserved "Dry and Quiet area" camping zone... Yes deep down we all know what I mean here and no I am not an old fuddy duddy OK! Oh and a bit of rain ;) Cheers.

Had a ball at the Barry Sheene meeting, and caught up with a few VMX characters there too.... Had a nice chat with Kork Ballington and sadly didn't manage to bail up Warren Willing and extract some secrets.

Spent all day Saturday at the Barry Sheene and had a pretty good time. I ran into Firko, Jonesy and Yamaboy and had an enjoyable lunch at the Cricketers Arms English pub up the road from the track. After lunch we caught up with Jonothan Houston (Club Wog, Aspes etc) and his new Motobi 250 racer, Mick Hockley and his 350 TZ (left the Maico at home). Had a good yarn with Robbie Phillis whose girlfriend Christine is an old "mate" of Jonesys and discovered that Kork Ballington has some mutual mates back in South Africa and Qld.

The Saturday lunchtime demo by Graeme Crosby on the Moriwaki Suzuki and Kork on the works Kawa was a bit underdone as Kork was obviously uncomfortable on the Kawa which was running a bit iffy. Croz was just Croz and flew off leaving Ballington and the coughing and farting Kawa way behind.

All in all it was a pretty good event but was spoiled a bit by the Bonanza being on the same day. What were MA thinking?? After it was over we went back to the Cricketers Arms and Jonesy rank some mates who'd gone to the Bonanza and heard that we were missing a great time. Hopefully next year the finances will be better and MA and the Barry Sheene organisers can sort out their differences and run on seperate weekends. The sport's too small to run biggys against each other on the same weekend.

Went to the Show on Sunday to keep the family happy and to top up my Bertie Beetle stash. Unbelievably, ran into Jonesy and his family again! We avoided the bar this time but we did all sit and compare showbags over a bad Capachino!

Get well soon Gator. It's crook enough crashing while you're racing but even more tragic doing it in a FUN event.

I just got home from Broadford and we all had a great weekend ,with so many things goin on it was hard to get to all the events , I spent saturday at the vinduro and got some laps on the mx track late and spent sunday at the mx ,speedway and the bar on top of the hill was perfect for wathcing over the whole show and the road circuit . From the amount of people and bikes  in the road circuit pits i dont think they were lookin for numbers there was some magic old bikes in there and they sounded like they should out on the track . The speedway was awesome and i will post some shots when i get a chance . Well done to all involved in running it ,I loved it thanks .

Looks like a good one all round. There are pics of all disciplines, with vids to follow, on the MA website at www.ma.org.au/hbbb. Even Mandy turned up at the roadrace !
