Your right there Micko.  Probably cost about sixty thousand dollars also.  I rang a place in Perth the other day about re-anodizing two old YZ rims and was quoted $300.
Cheers, Alex

Thanks for the heads up Rob, i will call them for a price when i build up my second wheel set.  I took my first wheel set rims up to Southern Powder coaters and they are blasting them and powder coating them gloss black for $20 for the pair. They are also only charging $20 for a set of hubs to be blasted and powder coated in satin black.

Check with Russ at Dynotime in Wangara - he recently sent my YZ fork leg off for me - it was a high build needed but a real good job.

Slightly off topic here.. but related to other posts here also..there is a guy in Landsdale (WA) that does anodising.. still a bit exy .. $100 a rim.. but was able to match old colour of Husky Nordisk rims perfectly.. a bit of a bear to deal with .. but well worth it in the end.. Brian at Camera Dynamics..9302 1316.. I  sand blasted the rims .. cleaned them up with a wire wheel. polished them on a pedestal buff.. I thought they looked. OK.. but still need to remnants of the anodising to be taken off with caustic..check him out..

Shock shaft off to Rad,  even rang me after I sent an email to him. That's personal service to start with.

RAD appear to be expensive up front but when you consider that the re-chromed fork tubes will last a lifetime then it's worth it. ;)

Has anyone been quoted or charged for pitted fork tubes, how much did they charge?

How much does RAD charge to do a set of forks that just have very minor little nicks/rust spots? I normally use www.hardchromeservices.com.au but i have some RM forks that i was not real keen on spending $400 on.

Example :
48mm KYB's with the axle lug's removed set me back $309.00 + $27.27 for FRT + GST of $33.64 comes to a grand total of $370.00 .
Shock shaft will come in at $100.00

Had my 73 YZ250A tubes done back 2007 by SA Hardchrome with an all up total of $300.00

Hope this helps
Rob.

Don't think you can beat RAD's work or service. Excellent operators, pitted or not & will even do an express service for not much more money. There's no such thing as "cheap" hard chroming that's done right.
