For those that are not aware due to the ongoing drought in my part of the World the worst I have seen in my 20 years back home, I made a commitment to pursue a new career path outside of farming, sometime ago I had an interview with AGL in Gloucester and was successful in gaining employment .Due to recent Government approvals the manager required some one to start within a 10 day period  I started with AGL last Monday on a 2 on 2 off roster this meant I am unable to ride the 4 day, as disappointing as it was I am very grateful  to AGL and I was never going to jeopardize the chance to give my family a better opportunity . I would like to thank everybody that has supported Riders Against Depression and I will continue to help raise awareness for this cause ,and support Nathan  . Regards Stephen

Hey Relfy,

That's a shame, but good to hear that you have now got work and a stable income, congratulations on that front.

There's always next year for the 4 day.

Take it easy mate.

Cheers

Jock

Finished 182nd (from bike #182...) in the prologue.
Rode OK, not great - too defensive, just burns energy and slows me down, really.

Bike is good. A few little niggles with the compression clickers set too stiff, and not quite right jetting, but should all be sorted for tomorrow.

This is way tougher than the Warrgul Four Day. I'm riding better and faster than I was then, but its way harder up here. Gone so close to houring out both days - I just can't ride the trail quickly enough to avoid losing lots of late time.

Today was 250km. The riding was easier than yesterday, but more of it, and lots of stuff is just so rutted out. I got stuck in a rut when the fork legs bottomed out - kinda wanted to take a photo of the rut after I pulled the bike back - there was a clear indent on each side of the rut, exactly matching my lower forks legs.

Also failed the cold start test due to the kick starter slipping. Pushed it through, and it started first kick... Grrr.

Shoulder gave me lots of grief in the morning, but it settled down to mere pain after I took my backpack off. Legs doing OK, arms/shoulders not so much.

Good luck with it.

You will finish , you look well placed at the end of today

Its very dusty in that district at the moment and i bet the dust is deep and real fine from all the traffic.
Autos are the way forward , see you round like a robot
Take the short cut, go Cross Country
