Not a rumour Steve. Things are looking good for this event but we are still in the early planning stage. I will update more when I have confirmed news.
Cheers
Shaun

Temora ,Penrith & Griffith have all thought about trying to run the event, but it is just to much work for any of us to get thru to make it a profitable & successful venture.
My personal thought is that ACT should have asked Temora for the entry forms for last years 2013 titles & mailed an entry form to all the prospective riders as not everyone can search or has the ability to search the internet for the event. As we did (GMSC) in 2010 approached Barleigh Ranch.

There are only a few tracks, OILED, that could possibly host a combined event.
I know I'll cop some flack over this but I feel it's time for our sport to move forward.
It's a natural progression that more classes will be introduced so I can't see a problem.
If I had one bike and paid top dollar to enter a 2 day "Title" event and thenonly got 3-4 rides I'd feel wripped off and be reluctant to get involved again.
We need to embrace the split or die.

if you only had 1 bike the most you can get is 4 rides
say a gold star bsa 500
pre65
pre70
pre75 open
pre75 four stroke
maybe your age group as well over 50 pre75 open
thats why i have a 250 as well
i didnt enter as they are all broken and pulled apart in the shed

That would equate to 20-25 rides per meeting.
What I meant was Jim, worst case, if you were a 35yo who rode a pre78 500 you should hope to get 4 rounds and a final.
Entry fees and overall costs are huge so I don't think it isn't much to ask.

The 2013 titles at Temora ran Evo and Pre 85s from the Post Classics AS POST CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES as well as Pre 78 and earlier, this was put to MA for this year, no go,  Classic or Post Classic or both with added cost, was how it had to be. I agree with Grasy re the entry forms, some-times the older ways are better.

It is interesting that apparently the reason Canberra wasn't Classic and Post Classic is because MA wanted double the permit fee if it was to be that way.  Can someone confirm that, that was the case?

Also did ACTMCC get the permit fee back?

The administration has changed at MA so maybe they will now be a bit more flexible.

Clearly the Classic Dirt Track Championships should be Classic and Post Classic together.  Also MA and the commission need to make sure Classic Aust Champs don't clash.  Allowing the Historic Road Race Champs to be on the same weekend is just not sensible.

While the split appears to work for Motocross, even at this stage of the year there appears to be no news RE who will run the Post Classic Championships next year.  It needs to be early in the year so Post and Classic are a reasonable distance apart, at least four months apart.

This is just my opinion but it needs to be sorted out ASAP.
