there's that  name again, Dave Coupe....i will google him, name rings bells in my tired brain!  HL reps are nice. I was amazed at a bloke on a STANDARD framed Yam 500 at MrVMX last year, he was F.A.S.T. on it too, begs the question, do you really need the HL rep frame to go quick???

Sales Rep Job has been good to me for the last 23 years, after i did my trade I became a rep and have not looked back apart from a 5 year stint back in my trade contacting. I think its the people you can get associate with and learn from as a rep, also its a reasonably flexible job which can give you opportunities that other fixed place jobs are sometimes restrictive with.

Dave's bikes are amazing.  I sold him my '76 KTM MC-5 a few years back and I can't wait to see what it looks like now.  The bike belonged to a friend of mine and he was just never going to finish it (It is indeed a GMC frame.)  Dave got it from him and look at the results!

Wow! It went to $13.7K.  Damn that bad economy. ;)

Yes I agree he does do magnificent work. Has everyone seen the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sIfiorMCng while he is just a sales rep. He works for Parts Unlimited so would have a lot of industry contacts. I'm sure he's no longer just a sales rep.

I'm jealous, not just because he has been able to do all this but because I'm not motivated enough to do something similar. His reputation is so good people ring him up to take bikes away that they don't want (for free). Imagine being invited to a BBQ at his place.

if we are in fantasy mode, I am imagining that his place is my place!  But I would settle for the BBQ option.

Yes and guess what.....not listed at a price it is for sale at  ::). Why do people do this....don't they want to sell the thing? Wastes bidders time IMHO. Listing this at $9 starting price with a reserve when it finished the last auction at $13k is just ridiculous. I don't understand........ :-\ :-\
