So it sounds like the mob have spoken  :D In short: the mob says the bike is likely not quite "an original", also they say its probably worth a maximum of 5k in this country, in this current market.

G'Day
just a note to set things straight, my original post sent to OZVMX was to advise the people I thought "appreciated" bikes of this era and in this condition that it was for sale, giving them first opportunity if they were interested.
Obviously I was wrong there.
The 1st line of my post probably should have read "will be for sale in the near future"
However at the bottom of that post I put my name, phone number and email address if anyone wanted to talk to me about it.
Where I come from that's how we do it, if you want to know something, you talk to "them" about it.
Have to apologise I know F@#k all about computers and forums ETC. That's why my photos didn't work.
Thanks again to Paul Farrelly, there you are, Paul has a name and can be contacted.
Rookie, Hagon, BigK do you have names and phone numbers? I'm happy to talk to you about my bike.
Smed I remember emailing you in 2010. I told you everything about the bike, no secrets.
You're right the repairs were done well by myself as a fitter/tuner and welder of 35+ years.
I don't understand some of your other comments. The swing arm is "original," yes it does have ribs welded to the top "makes great structural strength sense to me" but their easily removed.
And the pipe is original, don't know what photos you've been looking at.
I have no idea what your talking about with the seat and rear mounts, what mounts?
I did contact an OZVMX committee member in 2010 who was very helpful and told me 5-10K depending on the condition.
"Hagon" can you tell me what IMO, PPLS and little smiley faces mean I don't understand all that stuff.
BigK (funny name) if you're not interested, I'm not wasting your time.
Besides there must be shitloads of CR250m's in this condition for sale.
To the people who appreciated the bike thanks for your comments I bet you're good club members.
(have names like John Orchad and Johnny O too)
Once again if you're interested or want to know any information I'm happy to talk>
Regards Wayne

I don't want to buy your bike, I already have a couple. If you want to sell something you have to name a price or it ain't for sale. I've never been into an establishment that sells things & not seen prices, hell even the supermarket does that. Name a price, if it's deemed cheap or fair you'll sell it, if it's too high you can negotiate or you'll be keeping it anyway. Expecting prospective buyers to be the buyer & the seller at the same time doesn't work real well. You can have the K from my funny name & add it to yours if you like.

You have a nice bike , I would prefer if got it out of the shed and race it drank beer by the fire and turned up at heaven events.
Nothing wrong with coming on here and fishing for a sale but dont be upset when you are called for it.
Why there not are many bikes like your for sale in the same condition in Aus  there are some in USA much the same as yours you can buy under 4k.

At the end of the day, it's not a YZA Yamaha or a Maico 490, so they way the market has shifted with the world wide economy, in my opinion, no bike is worth or getting more than 5K at the moment. Sad, but true. I have some lovely bikes that owe me shitloads more than that but if I had to sell any of them that's probably  all I'd get.

My picture is taken from an original Honda sales brochure I have,The exhuasts look quite a bit different to me ;)
If it makes you feel any better Wayne I own a 1974 CR125M & CR250M,when purchased both bikes had the LTR treatment, luckily the 125 was only modded in the swingarm not the frame :)

The 250 however was modified on the upper mounts, they had welded on new mounts but left the old in place thankfully not cutting & shutting the frame :)

both bikes have now had the process reversed, the 250 is still a work in progress, the 125 is now a garage Queen :)

So I think I know a little about Elsinores ;)

As far as the seat goes if you have not altered it since I seen the bike at HBBB it is modified not original ;)
I do not want to pick on you or your bike mate,I just did not want someone to buy a so called original bike based on the photos & your description & be disappointed, that's all :)
