Mic, the Horwoods did those KTM's prould, DK still turned the knife a little more.....he was basically playing with everyone, he's off to defend his World Vet's title he won last year and then to Farleigh Castle. After lunch today he went surfing.....why wouldn't you?, afterall your in the Sunshine State. Robo47 on here who lent Darryl his 89KX500 to ride reckons he'll park it up now...off to the pool room...lol. A few things I noticed at this event which ended up with 181 riders and over 500 bikes where
1 Those 80's model KTM's in white look like faded dogpoo.
2 Not many yellow peril in the pre85/pre90 classes
3 Lots of Green bikes in pre85/pre90.....all sizes.
4 Lots of young fella's at this event.
5 Having non competitive ride sessions is a great idea....the old boy's love the idea....we had a 56 Jawa doing laps
.
6 The novelty events on Sunday afternoon are a hit
7 VMX in general has some of the nicest people you could ever want to meet
8 The harder you work, the luckier you get...this event is a monster and has had an unbelievable amount of hours/work put in behind
the scene by a few people that never gave up and it paid off....I take my hat off to everyone involved including the riders because at
the end of the day we all need each other.
9 There are lots of caravans/play stations/buses and motorhomes now....maybe we are getting soft?...lol.
10 Having a "PRO" class is a great idea....having Ex world champs/GP riders/ Aussie, Kiwi champs riding/racing/walking around the pits
talking to everyone is a big buzz....the whole atmosphere is electic...nothing but smiles
11 This event has the potential to grow...I'll predict next year over 200 entries.
12 The 3 Kiwi's (Shane/Darryl King and Mark White) will be at least 6 next year...a genuine Australia V NZ test...6 in each side..maybe
more....the pro's are excited as us
13 It was hard work going from side to side on drunks hill watching the Pro's when your on crutche's
14 There are some beautifully prepped bikes out there.
15 The 80cc class is growing.
