Powder coating remorse
I'm suffering from a bout of it right now Mick, I hate the stuff. Are you going to have the Oval Maico ready for CRC mate?
Yes Firko, I have had a major change of mind about powder coat on everything.
Uuuumm, shortest explanation about my CRC pre65 Maico project,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
The Facts-
I have Been stuck behind the eight-ball for a spell.
Been very sick for five weeks, lost 8.5 kilos.
The 360 alloy oval I bought from the US, is actually a very rare early MD360SS Roady with title.
If you Google for days, you find the odd X3 MC360 here and there,
but
no MD360SS roadies, mine is the tenth one made. I did "dry July" and kept it up. With a clear mind now
I just cannot bring myself to carve up its rare originality and I love riding on the road.
So I have decided not to cut off the roady brackets etc,,instead I have put a Squarie 400 engine in to it, with quad-leader, etc. It will soon become road regoed for a daily rider.
So, I am waiting for another X3 MC frame for the Oval 360 engine.
So in the meantime, I was actually thinking last night,
Plan, Online tracking says that this 1959 frame I bought from Germany is now in Oz somewhere on the way to my place?
http://www.ebay.de/itm/181178171474?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649This 59 frame should knock on the door in the next day or two.
I have nearly everything I need to bolt together a legal pre-65 "Hack" If the frame is as good as it looks looks in the Ebay listing. Obviusly it wont be as good as the real X3 thing, but it is OK to crawl before one walks, an I would love to line up and be counted for one of those exclusive tee-shirts
Fingers crossed.
