There was an LC roughy on eBay recently....not sure how they'd go modded for dirt track though.
LC great on Dirttrack just the right amount of Power and Flywheel
Chambers and Powerband are the Secret
Contemplate a Banshee 2 into 1 Exhaust and a 1 into 2 Carb setup
I have tried both on a 350 LC engined Suzuki Quadracer and it was great
But that was 20 years ago

Did some work on the swingarm tonight. Coped the rhs for the pivot tube and cut the axle slots. Made the slots 60mm long to give plenty of adjustment.

Tacked it together ready to try it in the frame, which is in another shed.

If it all fits up OK then I can finish welding the pivot tube in, weld in the brace and gussets, cut it to length and make up the wheel adjusters.

Back home from O/S for a week so got the swingarm tube and stiffener welded in.

Made up the wheel adjusters and plates for the inner shock mounts.

Picked up some Marzocchi shocks from the wreckers for $25. Will just put a kit through them and they should be fine.

Hoping to have time to get the frame modes done before going back overseas.

Did a bit of work on the frame. Cut out the bits of an old DT frame that will be grafted into the RD frame

Put the swingarm in the RD frame and took some measurements

Cut the sidebars and seatrails out of the frame, which weighed a ton

Ready to start putting the frame together - might have to go to Bunnings and get some "no more gaps".

Once that's finished the final mock-up can be done. Have to go back O/S on Monday, so it'll have to wait until after that.

Hopefully I'll be back in time Mark. Not sure yet if there's any room for my bikes, but I'll come up.

Update: Ted's just posted a reply and my bikes are in. ;D

Cleaned up all the areas where bits had been cut off and then modified the frame side bars so they meet up, ready to be coped into the backbone

Looks like it will fit up pretty good. Just need to extend the backbone up to the steering head and cope the end ready to weld. Once that's in place new rear loop struts can be added in with tapered reducers machined up to accommodate the difference in diameters

It's a bit hard to spot in the photo but the old DT frame is as straight as a dog's hind leg, so that'll need to be straightened out before it's welded in. Seen a lot of DT frames and none of them seem too straight ???

Put both frame pieces on the scales and they weigh 12.2 kgs. Haven't got the complete rear loop struts yet but still have the side stand, pillion pegs and a number of other brackets to come off, which might take another kilo off, so it's no lightweight but not too bad.

Bought a throttle assembly from the bikeshop across the road from my hotel - just under $9. Throttle, grips, and cable - can't go too far wrong as you can't even buy a universal throttle cable at home for that amount. It's not a geared one so has no moving parts to speak of and on the packaging it guarantees high performance motorcycle, top acceleration. The works teams will be all over these when they get wind of them ;D
