Ewan McGregor is the real deal too. Ewan humph cashed up poser charlie was the driving force, Dakar or bust, top to bottom bottom, side ways left to right, by any means,Charlie was a winger in the first one, not as bad in the second after he ditched Ewan (and wife( the spoiler)all good after that he came good trekking like he did was A OK by me, I'm jealous would've been great fun, his good mate the producer from the others stuff and him paid adventure trip of a life time several times over.  Ewan openly admits he hates the dirt.

Don't think Charley is some poor working class pleb who made good, he's probably richer that Ewan thanks to his Hollywood director/producer dad. It's doubtful he's ever had to work in Macca's. I give 'em both brownie points for just doing what they do. Ewan might not prefer the dirt but he's still a motorcyclist and not a sometime rider like Brad Pitt.

Steve McQueen feeling very uncool, being treated for blistered hands after a long distance race.........this brings back memories to me of a 6 hour dirt track at Nepean around 1978.......my SOFT office clerk hands, blistered and taped up and PAIN !!........Me.....UNCOOL ........Steve McQueen......COOL
