Before we get all hot and bothered, everyone should remember what Troy's request to Roy Gay was..........he wanted 12 EVO bikes of different makes and riders of equal ability to ride in EXHIBITION races, hopefully with 4 different winners........it was not about fast LAP TIMES, it was about close, EXHIBITION races. Also, a few CRASHES only added to the SPECTACLE.........I'm saving my fast lap times for the 2014 Australian Classic Dirt Track Titles.........I just wish some club in QLD would put up their hand to run it........ ;D ;D

Have to agree Grant, with names like Watson, Wiltshire, Boyce, Tim Hunter & Tony Primmer.
I'm sure there's other slider riders from that great era but the crowd would love it.

Man,....what a sight that would be.  The crowd would be on their feet.
Trouble is,...there are probably some  out there who DON'T want sliders there.
If we were so fortunate, what class/classes? 2v,....4v....upright or laydown?
I can hear them now at full throttle. And smell the Castrol R and methanol.
I think I'm dreaming

Excuse my ignorance, aren't sliders allowed to race short circuit anymore?

Sliders are short circuit IMO

I can still remember the first time I saw them at Nepean.......

Of course they are allowed to race Ted.. I spoke to Chris Watson about exactly that on saturday and he said the modern 450's are too good now that you wouldn't bother..

Sliders would be great but for one thing, they're not that great on oiled tracks. Two things actually.....We can't get them to turn up on tracks that are suited to them so it's wishful thinking expecting them to turn up for TBC. Most of the great slider riders have hung up their leathers and there aren't any many new ones coming along......everyone wants to ride a chookie these days. I'm not anti slider, just a realist unfortunately.

No not at all. I've seen plenty of MX bikes doing short circuit. Doesnt interest me. I'd rather watch paint dry.

You got no idea Ted how good, close and fast the racing was not to mention all the stars from different facets of the sport all on the track at once. I too have seen plenty of Mx bikes on dirt track but this one is something special!

Is it just me or the idea of a big twin class stupid what I mean is I love the twins they are real cool and all but it's a short circuit meeting not an AMA flat track meet the addition of a slider class to preserve the history and culture behind aus dirt track is what needs to be done. Not meaning we need a full grid of top gun riders but a grid full of people who can ride one. As for them shitty unis the lads ran on Saturday they should scrap that shit and let them at the very least run a decent trials tyre front and rear or a set of k180's or cd5's or the like
