Early Christmas pressys.
« on: November 12, 2012, 01:50:27 pm »
As well as buying the Maico KR short tracker as an early Christmas pressy for myself (Really old Maico on Marks Swapmeet thread), I've also bought a new guard dog to protect Casa del Firko. A mate's daughter works at the RSPCA dog pound in Katoomba where someone bought in this 3 month old Fox Terrier puppy that they'd found dumped in a milk crate. The little pup was in pretty poor nick from mistreatment but after some TLC he's almost back to 100%, with just a slight rash on his snout to clear up. The little dogs nature won everyone over at the pound so knowing that I was wanting a new head of security she brought him over to show me. As soon as he walked in the front door he dropped a land mine on the carpet so I guess he'd made his mind up that this was where he wanted to live. He's a bonny little bloke with plenty of personality so he'll fit right in. I've always had either Blue Healers or Bull Terriers so this is my first foo foo dog............Introducing Reggie Firkin

Mark I'm glad you got yourself a new friend ! I know you've been thinking about it for a while, this one should get fit trying to keep up with it and cleaning up after it. Just watch out for the steaming patchs of carpet there're a killer on socks or bare feet. Curly

A good name but my Aunty and Uncle had a little Yorkie named Rastus....a prick of a dog, used to piss on your leg. The close runner up for a name was Fido. I know it's the generic dog name but have any of you ever actually seen a dog named Fido? Me neither. Reggie's much better than his pound name 'Balboa'. Apparently he became mates at the pound with another dog named Rocky...Rocky Balboa, get it ???. Pretty lame eh?

It was pretty bloody hot today here in Tinsel Town (42) so we figured it was a good time for young Reggie Firkin to have his first swimming lesson. He wasn't impressed first up but eventually got to like the idea ;).

That is a nice little dog Firko we have a Foxy cross Jack Russell called Jimmy he is a great little dog cheap to run.

The only thing is as they get older they get smarter our dog will come flying to the gate if you get his lead out and click it but he will just sit in his bed now if you just call him if he doesn't feel inclined to do what your asking, which he never used to do he has only in the last couple of years designated himself as his own boss he is 8 years old hopefully go a fair while longer.
