Not sure who’s photo, not one of mine.
You can see that the other riders are jealous of this beautiful DT 360
Or are they just cranky that he crept forward of the line.

There's not many times when a DT360 is the gun bike of the group, but it is in that photo. ;D
The look on the faces of those poor four stroke riders' faces is called Envy.
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

Nah, they're thinking "You're doing a loop on that with trials tyre and 30psi front and rear" :o

I reckon they've each got a unique personality Iain. Anyone can build a clone bike but to build a bike to your own vision is a cool thing. Who gives a flying fu*k if some people don't like the black 'stealth' bike, it's your bike so do it whichever way you choose. That's whats so great about using the DT1/RT1 as a platform for building a special. They made squillions of 'em so you're not chopping up some unique rarity to achieve your idea of a VMX bike. You'll always get neersayers and charlatans ready to lay crap on your pride and joy. When I built the 'DT1 from Hell' back in 1991 I copped all sorts of crap from everyone, including my best mates. They couldn't see the race potential under all of the candy apple paint and chrome and even after the bike came within half a wheel of winning the pre 70 class at two Nats in a row the narrow minded dicks still laid shit. That's probably why I'm building a series of DT1/RT1 powered specials now. I could have stuck with my tried and race competitive Maicos or any of the other, more competitive exotica tucked away in the shed but I love the challenge in building a racer with the heart and soul of an uncompetitive trail bike. I reckon you do too.

If I can offer up an opinion, I'd keep the unrestored gold tanker as original as you can, keeping the original look and patina, while doing the usual frame chop, and engine and suspension mods. A bit like I tried to achieve with DT1FH. Keep at it mate.................

And another to come within the next fortnight....then comes the rebuild of the DT1 from Hell.

…the narrow minded dicks still laid shit.

Hasn't it occurred to you that it is nothing to do with the bikes, but they might just like laying shit on you;D
