Ebay issue. Wanted to put it out there.
« on: March 14, 2011, 06:44:45 am »
Just thought I'd share this latest issue with ebay vs people vs underhandedness.

Check my listing as it spells it all out. I have a feeling this guy might just be on here so he can see the shit fight he has caused.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290544780403&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

This is from the eventual high bidder/ winner of the auction, copied and pasted.

two days ago i checked my bay site and it said ihad been outbid on this item.there had been 6 bids to $123 dollars.i cannot trust the security of your auction and i refuse to purchase from you. i will be reporting this to ebay. Thank you David

I had the same thing about 2 weeks ago. I was trying to sell a KTM 250, this guy had got on and drove bids up to about $6k, then 24 hrs later had retracted his bids saying he had entered the wrong amount (How the F%^K do you do that 3 bids in a row). After checking his bidding history, he had done the same thing to 13 of the last 15 bids he had placed in 3 months.
I then offered it to the other bidder but they only wanted to pay the highest bid at the time ($3.5k)  before this other dickwad got on. Even though there highest overall bid was $6k.

sounds like it could be the seller doing it to their own items in some cases?

not you 090!!

Ebay is pretty useless when theres an issue .I usually get some standard response and nothing more.About all you can do Brad is block the guy from bidding on your auctions in future and report him to ebay.Hopefully if here are enough reports they will do something.

Also watch out for a an email about your item that you are selling and sends an sms on your phone and an email on your computer saying he is keen to buy the item and his name is smith. ( Scam )

i won ($51.75) a alloy s/arm for my ossa in the USA,a guy retracted a very high bit saying he bid the wrong amount, but he wasn't in the bidding history previously??,figure just the sellers mate trying to bid me up on my auto's to see what my max was, must of pissed them off!!(when it was only $55),stuck me for $81 for shipping,s/arm turns up with $45 worth of postage,so i guess he made it up on postage??,go figure, :P

On the same theme I bid for a part and lost to an outrageous bid.  The seller contacted me less than an hour later and offered a "second" part for an extra 10% of the selling price.  I declined as I suspected the highest bidder was known to the seller and was driving up the price.

Is it any wonder that eBay's a shadow of its former self? From the moment they changed the listing so that the bidder list was anonymous the scammer element has had a field day. I've been buying and selling on eBay since 2000 and used to make a nice little bit of play money from it. I still do it but these days it's losing its shine, putting up with the wankers, non payers and ever growing eBay fees.

Brad, Have you rang evil- bay... and asked for a check retracted bidder ....to see if this a regular thing. If so have them black listed.

I told you about my  similar experience to Matcho Mick  with a pair of forks.  ???
