Hi freaky, the dirt track is 640 meters long, and has a 12 meter elevation, from the first left hand corner, up the hill, thru the kink and along the top straight.
 On my 74 cr125 elsinore I run a 13/ 46, and that is good.
dont over gear here, cause you want to get up the hill as fast as you can!!!!
Hope 2 see you in canberra!!!!
Supp regs for this event are going to MA for approval next week, and should be out on the website soon.
The closing date for this event will be 3 weeks prior to event, friday 15th august, no late entries after closing date,
So HOPE FULLY EVERYONE CAN GET THERE ENTRIES IN EARLY!!
We are also looking into having polo shirts made for this event , and ordering sizes and payment can be done with entries,

Anyone interested in bringing there show bikes so we can have a show and shine???

Been out of DT for a few years but want to head up for the titles but just wanted to know What is the hot set up as far as tyres go for this track?? Are there any 18's that are good enough to use or do you need to run a 19 to be competitive. And are there any front nobbies that work better than others there?

Is standard MX gearing OK?
Looking fo a TZ750 anyone with any leads please PM

Hi Mick, tyres for your bike would be a michelin trials tyre on the rear, and a kenda carlsbad work well on the front, as for your gearing on my bike I run 6 teeth, less than standard on the rear sprocket

Worth reminding everyone that it's now just a bit over 2 months till the 2008 Aussie Classic DT Nats here in Canberra. The club is running regular practice days and club days, two or three a month, and anyone within a few hours of here could get some valuable practice/setup time at one of these events. Check out the ACT club site for more info.

http://www.actmcc.com/DT/dtnews.htm

I think we have race days on 13 July and 3 August.

I am reminded how fast time is getting away as I am still trying to get the TM back together so's I can get it sorted in time...

Supp Regs are out! Check out the OzVMX page for details of classes of competition and to download the regs and entry form.

http://www.ozvmx.com/whatson/08-dt-nats.htm

This is all starting to sound pretty good - heaps of classes, racing over two days, decent practice and more. It'll be bloody brilliant.

I notice on the supp regs one sore point. As i have never seen a noise meter At any SA vintage meet i have no idea what my DT 's blow they sound quiet but i may be deaf., its a freakin long way to go to find your on 102db, as per tassie how will you get round this ?

Last i spoke to David white he made the assurance NO bike would be excluded from competiton at this stage if they have made a genuine attempt to lower the levels of there machine.  However, i read you have inserted in - bold , point 24, "that any unit over 96db will be excluded".

I was considering going but if that is going to be enforced im not going to chance it and will save my money and time.

IS it possible for an interstate bike to be tested locally By some MA Rep somewhere and signed off log book style/ photographed prior to enty to ensure it can compete ?   I think if compeditors actually read this section you would have a lot less entries as its an unknow area, as was tested in TAssie most tried and all rode.

Can you give us some feedback on this so i can either fiend someone in this state in MA who has a device and knows how to use it. or failing that  ensure ALL competitors understand they will be excluded over 96db so they too can save themselve the money and the time off work.

Freaky, Fairburn Park in canberra has its own noise rules, the dirt track has a noise level of 100db, which has been set by the environment protection authority, in the ACT. When we have meetings where we think we may go over with noise, we get noise credits for those events.
I didnt do up the sup regs for this event, I think that is the MA noise level limit in the G.C.R s
I doubt very much that anyone would be excluded from this dirt track meeting......
