Hi Guys,
Don't let the noise limit worry you,if you have a muffler on and it is repacked properly you wont have a problem,The problem is still with the VMX guys who snub at the rules and turn up with out a muffler on or a muffler that has not been packed properly. I tested in Tasmania and 90% of riders did the right thing and they were fine, however there was a few who turned up with out making any effort and had straight out pipes. I tested 25 bikes from a random draw and the bikes that tested were generly ok except about 4 who were way over and these riders were told that they would not receive any race points if there was a protest and they were also told that there noisey bikes would not be tolerated at any MA event in the future.
If you plan on coming to race with out doing the right thing you will be excluded
As a Classic Commissioner and a noise tester please put on a muffler and lets move on and enjoy the racing.

Please PM me if you want more info.

Cheers
Fatboy

I can't believe that this noise debate is still going on and that Freakshow is still driving the noise bus. I think that most of us knew that it wasn't an issue but old Freaky kept on with it. Just put a good muffler on your bike Freaky and got to Canberra and enjoy yourself.

i got mufflers in the section, but again its along drive home.  Due to cost of entry and petrol there and time off work i want a smooth experiance if im going to be investing that much in driving 2,000 km.

Just reading the Supp Regs and am confused about the order of events. Or more exactly, what's happening with practice? I thought earlier it had been suggested that Saturday arvo would be practice/setup time with racing on Sunday, but the regs seem to indicate racing both days with only limited practice. I thought a weak point in the program at Wagga last year was the insufficient practice time. Given there is no way I will be able to get my TM sorted before the event, I am hoping for at least a few laps to get it dialed in.

Well, it's now just a few weeks until the 2008 Classic DT Championships here in Canberra. The local club have been putting a lot into this event with particular attention to making the track just right on the day. It should be a top weekend - it's a fun track to ride and spectators have a great view from the top of the circuit.

From what I've heard, entries have been pretty slow. Remember, closing date is only a week away (14th August), so you should get into gear and send that entry away right now. You can download the supp regs/entry from the DT Championships page here: http://www.ozvmx.com/whatson/08-dt-nats.htm

By the way, if you don't have a national licence and want to use a one day competition licence, you'll need to get the paperwork in asap as MA require 21 days to process. If you add that to post times and other admin overheads it means you probably need to send in your entry and application right now to avoid things going pear shaped.

Hey Pat, can you let us in on how entries are going? I sent mine off today, AND picked up the TM engine. I'll have the TM at HEAVEN this Saturday to run it in. Looks like I'll definitely be a starter on thr 6th!

Hi Graeme, glad you got your motor back, saw it on the bench at chris" s the other day,
will see you at mx on weekend, we may have a practice next weekend on dirt track.
Entries for australian classic dirt track is very poor........ A total of 22 classics so far, pretty poor, hope they flood in next week, as closing is next friday
 see you on weekend

22 eh? Not so good, but we've seen before that most of the entries turn up in the last week. Mind you, we'd be hoping for at least another 60-70 to make a decent show of it. I'd have thought with the event in Canberra we'd pick up all those Sydney DT racers, a fair swag of Victorians and a few from the central/west NSW. Still, I hope we don't get too many in the Suzuki TM125 49 year olds class, I reckon I might be in with a shot at a trophy.

C'mon guys, get those entries in, and if you know someone who's thinking of entering get on to them.

A few more of the Heaven Guys took there entries down on the weekend
but still a little low,
the Canberra guys put in a lot of effort for these  meetings on and off the track
so get them entries in this week,
( I hear the Race sec will be away in the week prior to the meeting so needs the entries in early to
get It all sorted)
camping at the track available , plenty of wood for fires, videos at night, canteen operating,
just bring you bikes and a good attitude,
Cheers
Noel
