Shocks are 16", I am sure they violate some rule or other.
Well for me, there's far more to vintage mx than how rules and eligibility tends to be viewed. I've felt for a long time this always penalizes
innovative and ground-breaking bikes that end up running at the least competitive end of their alloted era, and ignores the place of hop-up
gear by placing people in the difficult position of needing to justify the use of a swing arm here or flat-slide carb there. So when someone
wants to put a bike together, perhaps basing the whole rebuild on a trick period part, I feel this should be respected and applauded. To suggest
that a part is 'ugly' misses the whole point. We all know, now we've all partly grown up, that most of the genuine aftermarket bits and pieces of the era were
of dubious design and rarely added any real performance advantage. I for one can see not only the inevitable 'one-up-man-ship', the psychology of 'Ive got something tricker than you' that motivated many way back then as it still does today, but also the humour of all this as we look back on simpler times when we were all just that little bit more gullible, and not quite as cynical as we are today. So yeah, good on ya Marc for this one, and keep us updated,
