I have , I owned an 87 rm250 in the past and I own a ts250x 84 model , both have very similar flat slide mikuni but after looking at the parts list the needles for the rm are discontinued for it as well and the later ones have a keihn carb which the necj needle i suggested is from , so not much help there , maybe mikuni oz might suggest a similar replacement , the TM series carbs look the same

Leave the thread in the lever , put a longer bolt in and tighten it up until the lever is as it should be , then use a nylock nut as a locking nut on the protruding thread of the new bolt , has worked for me before and your lever isn't modified either.

Modified hospital bed works well probably wouldn't put a Harley on it but dirt bikes are fine

The higher octane pump fuels aren't always that good either as I was told that not many people buy it and it sits in the servo tanks and deteriorates. I go with the 95 and fuel additive as well.

Good on him wish I'd thought of that , I just sold a TC100 on ebay and even though I put in the description not to pay by paypal the buyer still did because you cant opt out of it in the payment method when listing so theres $2.90 in paypal fees , then ebay have their paw out for the add $8.40 and a percentage of the sale so I'll be lucky to get $80 dollars , probably even less when I get their total fees from a $100 auction no wonder he's doing it that way.

Could be an 85 model that was made in 84 the manufactures bring out the next years model half way through the previous year from my experience.

I just got one of those XL250R's for my son to ride for $100.00 , it had a rocker cover leak and the frame had cracked at the right foot peg through rust and neglect fixed both , cleaned the carbs out and it run like a beaut , he has the choice of a 250s twin shock or the 250r now so he's like a puppy with 2 d!@ks he loves both although the mono shock is his first choice most times I even dont mind a ride around on either sometimes
