Does anyone know where I can get a rubber fuel cap gasket for a 1981 Yamaha XT250?
TIA.

Partzilla's photo shows the cap as a unit only, no seperate gasket but they do list the whole cap so it may be worth asking your local yamaha dealer.
Part number shows it fits quite a few different model of XT of all capacities

My suggestion is go to a bearing supplier - CBC say- and ask for a Viton O ring or Viton sheet to make a gasket. Safe with any conceivable 'petrol'.
If you love it, lube it.

You can buy various "rubber" sheets, including viton, of various thickness from a mob in melbourne and they will post it out. I have used it for a tank cap and its perfect, I also have used it to make new seals for petcocks. I found them thru ebay but dealt with them over the phone with credit card.
