Kay insists it was a Mark Hill, an A grader back then.
Keep in mind there are a couple of Mark Hills around the traps including another on this forum

I'm a Hills, not a Hill. And it definitely wasn't me.

Thanks for taking the time to upload the videos Geoff. Good to see some quality aussie content on the tube.

it should be relatively easy to comply with those guidelines, providing a bit of imagination is used in registering the event.
It works for Vinduro so I can see no reason why it can't work for VMX.

Just reading between the lines here.....

IF a meeting wasn't labelled as a "RACE" and was instead labelled a "RIDE DAY" then our fees would be much cheaper.
I also personally believe that the word "RACE" puts alot of people off riding. Take a look at the popularity of events like Classic Dirt and Broadford Bike Bonanza for evidence of my point.
I have attended one meeting in Australia where there were no trophies or even results entered into the equation and yet there was well over 100 entries and over 200 bikes! And let me tell you, there wasn't anybody going slow. There was no bitching about eligibility or the lack of trophies either, just smiles everywhere.....

I'm not sure but I think if there is a start using gates or whatever and then a chequered flag that is a race.

The meeting I attended was a club day by all accounts and was run as a demonstration event if my memory serves right. The chequered flag was used to denote the end of laps.

General Discussion / Re: Barkbusters rule?
« on: January 07, 2017, 05:37:50 pm »
SERIOUSLY?

Why would you want to run any sort of "barkbuster" on an MX bike other than being too lazy to take them off your enduro bike and plug the end of the handlebar? You don't even need to buy new grips anymore so you can't use $$ as an excuse.

I'd rather have to change my bar setup than clean an airfilter any day. I HATE cleaning airfilters but I ALWAYS clean my airfilter after EVERY ride.....

Slovakian rider Ivan Jakes was struck by lightning in 3rd stage. Just got checked his ticker and he is back on bike. Even finished 3rd stage. Some guys need to toughen up bit :)

SERIOUSLY  ::) ::) ??? Have you or Mr Jakes ever tried riding a motorcycle (not a keyboard) with a broken leg over any sort of distance on any type of surface? I have....and it was the worst 5km of my dirt bike riding life. IDIOT

RCH Suzuki also trialed the same "central filling system" with Ken Rockzen last season and it failed. it was the only race that he didn't finish on the podium all season.

Keep it simple would be my advice

Bad news alert!

While setting the pace in yesterdays stage, Toby Price crashed, broke his femur and had to be airlifted out of the Dakar.
We all know how tough Toby is so no doubt he'll have another stab at the Dakar next year.

With crappy knees and a suspect back it's getting harder to stay motivated for VMX racing. On that note, I am thinking of getting an old rally car.....probably a Dato 1600 or Escort on club rego so I don't have to transport it on a trailer every where I go.
I was given a voucher for an off road rally experience for chrissy and got to do a few laps in a rally prepped WRX and a V8 off road buggy. What a hoot rallying is.

Golden Breed were the Mr Motocross sponsors before Pepsi entered the fray.
I would guess at your sticker being from mid to late 70's. Most likely 1977

They are ITC shocks. For $US 600 they look to be a good buy. Shaft length is all dependent on the angle the shock will be working at and available wheel travel area. No point in having 12 inches of shock travel if there is only enough wheel travel space for 10 inches....

Does anyone actually read anymore?  ;D

I know they are the wrong tank decals for an 84 model but the bike came with 2 sets, might use them (only taped on for looks) and put the money into the rear shock.

Does anyone have a sense of humour anymore?  ;D ;D ;D
