For anyone possibly wondering what this is in reference to, for well over 10 years Bazza and I have have bet a t shirt on the result of the annual Bledisloe Cup. He's wearing more Aussie shirts than me wearing Kiwi ones unfortunately. There's a Nationals shirt enroute Bazza. You were lucky bucko!

Wrong rugby code Alison. This is proper Rugby, Wallabies v All Blacks, not the other game.
Thanks for the nice words in the PM. Same back at ya. Sorry we never got much of a chance to chat, I didn't get to socialise much at all being stiuck in the tower most of the weekend.

What are our chances of winning anything, with a kiwi in charge. ;)
Hope there are no poms on the forum, next thing the cricket will be on the agenda.
On a positive note , the Maroon team won the "other" rugby  ;D ;D ; Sorry Firko seems you can't win a trick.

Yep it's been a pretty ordinary year for my sporting affiliations. My beloved Rabbitoes dumped out of the semis on the weekend and now I wake to see that the Cricket nancy boys have let us down again. All I have left is dear old Randwick in the rugby. They've never let me down......yet.

Jeez Gavin...that's a sucker bet if ever I saw one  ;D. The Springboks are unbackable favourites and the Wallabies haven't won a game. I think I'll pass.

Gotta disagree on the yawn.
I was a ticket holder at the Brisbane Lions for about six or seven years (including the 3 in a row Premierships) and rarely missed a home game.
But I've given that seat the flick in favour of Rugby Union season tix for the Queensland Reds.

It's just not my game; I've tried but I can't get excited or care enough to watch it on the telly - except the Grand Final.
That's always good with beers at a mates BBQ.
And I've been to two Grand Finals - saw the Hawks beat the Eagles at Waverley and Adelaide beat the Saints at the MCG.
But after all this time I'm buggered if I understand the Aussie Rules version of a 'tackle'... that bear hug thing from behind.

AFL is an OK sport but it's unknown outside Australia - and don't even think about including that weird-arse hybrid game we play against the Irish!
And Rugby Union is global - it's massive!
For TV popularity it trails slightly behind the Soccer World Cup and the Olympics coverage.

But each to their own. And I'll be hoping for a Sainters win as I stand around with a beer at a BBQ...
"Whadaya mean it's too loud?! It's a f*ckin' race bike!! That pipe makes it go louder - and look faster!!"

Rugby is by far the best of the oval ball games, but the modern version is pretty boring and predictable. All the field play is just 'what they do' to while away the time waiting for the next penalty kick.

Change the point scoring system [1 point for a penalty] and bring back a running game with the occasional kick… [not the other way around].

Awaiting the abuse…
