YZ250F 1979 Rear drum floating Backing plate Bush?
« on: August 02, 2009, 09:37:20 pm »
Gday All, Can someone tell me if the stel bush in the backing plate is suposed to move freely in the magnesium backing plate. As the one on my F makes the rear suspension really stiff when the rear axle is tightened up.. If I reamove the rod that runs to the frame from the backing plate it then frees up the suspension.
Cheers Brett

Yes, they should rotate freely - that's the whole point of the bush being there.

On the plus side, it looks like you've avoided the typical flogged-out backing plate drama...

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.
