Shell 100 race fuel from the servo
« on: October 12, 2007, 10:34:19 am »
Just a question if anyone has used this fuel, up here in QLD you can go and get what they call 100 racing from the pump. I'm guessing its ULP but after bad results with Shell 98 I'm reluctant to give it a go. Has anyone any history?

What pump? I've never seen one, but then again I don't get my fuel at shell. Whats it worth a litre?

So, what IS the best pump fuel? I've used BP Ultimate and found it good, but then I was recommended Vortex 98. I've used that too and to be honest on the 2-strokes I can't tell any difference. Both appear to burn fine with no strange deposits, and no pinging or whatever.

I've run ethanol blend fuel in my trusty Rodeo ute and found no noticable difference in power but lost about 1km/L, I used three tank fulls and got the same each time. Haven't tried it in any of my bikes.

I've tried my TT500's on regular unleaded and they ratlle and clunk a fair bit. No problems on premium unleaded and I haven't yet noticed any difference between brands.

Lozza, what's the go with your secret brew?????????????????????????????????????

Can't comment on the Shell 100 211kawasaki or even the 98 but understand completely your prob with Qld fuel suppliers. I have had serious probs with BP's Ulitimate with it being ultimate shit! or atleast it was from my local supplier in Yeppoon, I'm not sure if there is such a thing as a reliable fuel supply as in getting what you pay for from a Servo so thats why I have gone to AvGas. I don't think there going to screw around with that fuel supply and the Octane rating of it, not unless they want planes crashing that is.  ;D

Maybe tuning the CR to whippersnipper specs then Noel ;D I have found BP 98 the most consistent out of all th 98's.
Secret Brew will remain just that ;)
