Hilly the beer is Tui, Speights, DB or any other poison you like to drink. Are you thinking about about coming over? We just had the first round of the VMX series and the smile on TMBills face says it all.

TMBill after a couple of races

A couple of pictures of the day.

The only triple jumps he would have been doing are the hop, skip & jump.

Yeah we hadnt had rain for a while, but we got a few drops that morning and being a cropped paddock the greenery wasnt in abundance but the dirt is a mix of soil/sand so she bermed up a bit. The 125J were there in force 250H and did well. Thats my one #178 (yellow YZ125J) with my werks rider piloting it. Some of the boys aint to happy about getting beaten by a girl ;D ;D.but with the nature of vmx and it people, they think its great, and the friendly banter that goes on is bloody funny.  The 125 class is an awesome class to race in and is pretty hotly contested.
Oldfart, if you are going to be here in May the series will be over but there is a funny day/weekend called the Woodstock Classic at Eno's place. This event is the pinnicle of friendly fun vmx racing in NZ(dare I say it). It is about 3hrs away from Hawkes bay and I was just talking to Eno and he would love to have an International flavour to his meeting.

090 bring those uggies and jandels- the offer from me and I'm sure from TMBill will be a permanent offer to all you vmx Ozzies, it would be great to see you guys over here. Maybe a few of you should get together and start planning.

One for TMBill; I here Murray has built a cheater bike and has only 4" of travel and wants to compete in the pre75 ;D ;D

All those pictures remind me of the great natural terrain motocross tracks in NZ in the 70's. I grew up and raced MX in NZ during this time and took the great riding country for granted. Moved to Australia in the 80's and only then realised how good and easy it was to ride dirt bikes in New Zealand.
I for one are going to have to venture "across the ditch" and enjoy the great riding yet again.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to a bike across the Tasman at a reasonable rate.

Hey DJ (don't know what went wrong, must have hit the wrong key)
I have a KLX 250 - well sort of , its about as standard as the one Gary Goodfellow used in NZ in the mid 70's to blow away the RM's, CR's and YZ 250's at the time. I'm not really that fussy however. I am past the point whee the bike is the limiting factor.

Hey Derail, where in NZ were you from?

I rode around Wgton in the 70s & 80s. One of my mates raced a KLX250 for a while, loved the handling but down on power. Mind you the way he rode, and still does, you wouldn't have known it.

DJ, I recently got married again (don't ask) I'm trying to work out how I can work a riding trip to NZ into the honeymoon..........................................................................................just got to make her think it's her idea

Cheers

Brent
