I want to change gearing on the TM. I run 520 chain and sprockets. Its been a while but I think the front sprocket was off a DR and I had to machine down the shoulder.
Does anyone know what 520 sprockets fit without any dramas?
I presently run 14, 48. This is way too high and want to go down to a 13 or up to a 51 on the rear.
Your help would be appreciated
Cheers
Steven

You can get blank rear 520 sprockets in most sizes from John Titman Racing, www.jtr.com.au/ , when you get it just get the guts machined to match your existing sprocket. They are quick to deal with, and honest.  ;)

Aftermarket front sprockets available at most bike shops (made by MCS) TM250 spline is the same as many others - Suzuki, Yamaha etc
I had 14t on mine - will get back to you with part number as reference.

Thanks PBear that info would be good. I dont think I have ever brought a front sprocket, I just used up what Shane had left when I brought his stuff. What rear sprocket were you running with the 14 front?
Cheers Steven

Hi Steve,  Couldn't find the old sprocket packaging last night  :(- must have gone with all the spares when I sold the bike late last year. I know it came from Craig @ Pal & Panther - he should know which one fits. From memory I had a 44 tooth rear sprocket.  Cheers, Andy

What is a readily available kickstart for the TM250?
I have never had to find one as I had some spares, but am fast running out of serviceable units.
Any sugestions...
Steven

I purchased a TM400L and couldnt believe the 15,44 gearing that was on the bike, i had my RM400N in pieces and saw that the front sprockets looked the same and yes they are the same, someone had fitted 520 chain/sprockets so i have fitted a 13 tooth front to help the 400 get off the line.
