Sponsor ship for the nationals
« on: January 03, 2009, 12:57:18 pm »
I just have an idea to support our riders at the nationals . Please let me know what you think of our planned concept.

We would like to reward every YSS shock equiped rider for getting a overall place on the podium .
Lets say we give  credit vouchers $500 for first , $200 for second and $ 100 for third . Should there be no podium getters, ( I hope there will be of course ) we would reward the highest  YSS place getter with a $50 voucher and a box of Link goodies . ( Motul )

Is that a good Idea or not?

Walter, i'm unlikely to place on the podium at the Nats and i don't have any of your products but i reckon your support and this idea are fantastic!

I hope to ride as a private person but the proposed sponsorship  would be on behalf of the company.
Who knows , I might be getting a voucher too  :D

Yeah good on you Walter, I really hope the racers appreciate your generocity by supporting YSS in return. Klub Kevlar are considering sponsoring the Pre 65 class, purely because we believe the class needs all the promotion it can get. Not being a business we'll get zero out of it except the warm fuzzies from seeing the ''true vintage" class being successful.

Great stuff Walter, wonder if any other manufacturers stump up some contingency money?

See Leith , you can not see the big picture . You can not bleed small businesses . The companies you mentioned are enthusiasts limited to VMX only and dont get the return for the outlay. But you as an agent for all those big companies should be able to raise money easy.

Great idea Walter! And very generous of you.

It reminds me of the yellow/black 'Camel' bibs worn by the European GP riders back in the day.
What was the deal?
I think the Rider would win $500 or so if they qualified in the first ten places (only if they wore the bib).
Something like that anyways...

It's all about marketing.
"Whadaya mean it's too loud?! It's a f*ckin' race bike!! That pipe makes it go louder - and look faster!!"
