corte cosso shocks

hi guys looking for info on some corte cosso shocks that ive come a cross any info would be good thanks

They dont work as good as the name sounds. grab a pair of something  better like koni or ohlins or well just about anything

Best info is just buy a set of YSS,because by the time you rebuild those C &C shocks you wll have spent 3/4 of the price and have a shock that is a 1/4 the performance as a set of YSS shocks.No compression,rebound,ride height or threaded preload.

well i got them free only want to find  seals and any info on them,i will be doing the work  i cant  afford new shocks

Firko - where is Dave Cullen (radar) now as he could set everyone straight on the Ohlins conversion for Corte Cosse's - didn't he head north?

Radar has a house here on the Gold Coast and was living here for a while but has moved back to Sydney and is running the Kawasaki road race team. He can rebuild your Corte Cosso's.

The Corte Cosso's on my MC490 worked OK but the springs sacked out really badly. I replaced the springs with a set from an RM400N/T and they worked much better. They were fairly decent after that.

Frank Pons at Biketek in Campbelltown will also do an Ohlins conversion on the Corte Cossos. I had him modify a set for a Husky 420 Auto a while ago and they worked great.

I think that there is more to it than that . Corte Cossos use  11.5mm  shafts from memory , while Ohlins use 12mm .

i have used the blue poly hydrolic ram seals , available at hydrolics suppliers , with excelent results , for uncommon sizes convert back to imperial , these have a better memory than the nitro ones , i have where necessary machined out the seal holder or sleived it down or whatever , i even have a set in some betor piggy backs with  pitted shafts and they are holding some pressure !!, nb, i haven,t got any gas in the ones i have done  , a good cheap cheap alternative i can buy over the counter for basic type shocks , on the list to try also and available in a simliar material is gas strut seals

From September on we have blank 12 mm hardened shafts(solid and hollow) and 12-36    and 12-30 sealblocks complet with DU bush and dirtscraper  to repair Ohlins , Koni , Corte Cosso, Bilstein  and of course YSS Shocks.
