Bloody hell, this thread began back in September 2007 - nearly 18 months ago!
Opinions are certainly divided on this one.
Anyhoos, I'm wondering if any legislation or any groundswell of 'banning' action has occured as yet?
Or was it another Journo filling a space in the paper or the evening News - let's see what we can stir up and stretch out and milk for a weeks press?

Yeah I know 'riding areas' are being closed down, but I mean the 'Banning kids from riding' bit which is what started this thread.

but kids need a place to ride where ever it is ,and kids will get injured what ever they do ,at the end off the day there learning to be just like there dads who are reliveing there childhood  with there maicos monties   zooks and yams ect ect

Yes I did. But I'm not saying that excuses it. In fact I would have been a lot happier if my Old Man at the time had been paying a bit more interest in what we were up to. It was in fact my Mum that got me into motocross for the very reasons I'm against (motocross) bikes in the bush.

I also recall when we were out annoying the shit out of everyone back then, a fourteen or fifteen year old kid having a head-on with car in the bush, killing him instantly. The driver is still pretty forked up 'till this day.

There just isn't a sound argument for it at all.....

i have thought about rec reg i dont ride enough though usually on private property and i will get my licence soon any way you are right ross and im sure everyone is guilty of riding where they shouldnt at one stage i really think that there needs to be places people can pay to ride i would be at a trail track near me if one existed all the time thanks Michael.

my mistake,makin a few lately  ::)
I did a search for kids bikes and this thread came up.
The Obituary for COMMON SENSE on page 3 was suppose to be for
"who has heard of this lately-no more kids bikes in US"
I thought when the warning came up, it was a computer gremmlin "this thread has not be used in the last 121days" was a bit suss  :-\..
oh well I'm off to have me silly in the head pills. ;D
