just stripped motor down been ported
crank and rod polished  cool 8)
looks good just doing mains and seals and piston
nice little bike cant wait to ride her  :P
will post photos in next couple of weeks when
finished ;D ;D

only ever owned 1 maico 74 250 mx
raced it back then for 6 months then got rid of it  :o
for a montesa that maico was the slowest bike i have owned ;D
plus i want to stand out when i win the races ;D ;D ;)

Nice bike, I think these bikes are very good looking machine.

Stand out that you will my friend, I just took the tank off the VF to the local motorbike strip to get a fuel cap, All I can say is WOW everyone crowded around to look at the tank to work out what bike it was off ect. Got asked is it a Monarch or CZ tank, Couldn't belive how much attention it got so I don't know what will happen when I take the whole bike out.

I agree - VA125 looks tres cool.

Nice bikes too, tho bigend is weak & g'box ratios are not as close as the competition. I had a near-new VB125 for many years, but VA125 is better looking. Sweet handling.

yeah they are pretty rare now
i am lucky enough to have 2 :o
both about 12 numbers apart on frame 8)
the big end has been done to a different style so should be sweet
i am running a bigger bing carb and with porting hopefully
should be good ;)
hope to have her done in a couple of weeks :P

VB125s ran a 36mm bing but it seemd a bit big. Std tranfers are rather small. I played around w 34 & 32mm Miks but never got them 'sweet'.

Have you taken  the paint off the pipe? Are you running it that way? It is a 74 is it not?

no its a 1975 brad so its pre 78
dont know how it will go  ???
the motor looks the goods
and they have a good frame and suspension
i will just have to see how it goes
yeah the paint is off pipe at the moment
will post a picture when complete and outside shed ;D ;D

Alternative (eg INA) caged roller in std rod?? Or diff rod?
