Had a note from Peter Ploen that he narrowly beat an Aussie on a Mugen Honda by half a wheel after a good scrap. Roger didn't have a ride and spent all weekend rugged up against the chill winds. But no doubt DJ and Bill will be sending pics and messages by a messenger with a cleft palate....

WHAT?!! He's Belgian! Back there he'd be in speedos on a pebbly beach.
Just how bloody cold does it get in Un Zud? Or has living in the land of plenty made him too soft?

Brad and Peter had the best "race" of the day in the Legends & Invitations race but Brad got the bad line (incountered a less faster rider) to the finish, but the cheers of the crowd for both of them when they crossed the line was for vintage racing, and the pair put on a great display.
Brad also rode a YZF250 the next day at the "modern" motocross and later that day was in the VMX display ride on a CR250 styling it up in front of the international riders and the large crowd of spectators.

...... even though they had to help build the track,  I hope our friends from across the ditch enjoyed there stay and are always welcome back anytime.

Great photo's, looks like Brad and Peter put on a good display for the spectators. Age obviously hasn't slowed Ploen down. Looks like he still custom bends his bars with extra sweep back like he did when he raced in Qld in the late 70's.

Brad is the walking talking nice guy of VMX, loves the sport and is a great advocate for the it and he rides like the wind as well, good to see he took the hole Elvis thing full on as well with different wardrobe in each shot!!

And yes you Kiwi's have the best country side around!

Actually, I did suggest him as a guest for CD5. But no, they had to go for some hasbeen from Belgium...... in fact, Peter was keen to come to CD5, and Russell Burling had a bike teed up for him, but he has a globetrotting job for Franklins, the oil mob, and his schedule is hideous, he's hardly had a ride in the last year or so. But if there's a gap, it wouldn't be a total surprise to see him stroll through the gate at CD6. He's the archetypal good ambassador for the sport, still in it for the love of the game, keen as hell and goes like buggery. And all with a big grin....
