I can see it now. Looks very nice. Bikes from that era have so much more character than the moderns. If you painted all the modern stuff the same colour you wouldn't be able to tell them apart on the track.
What year period is it meant to be in? Did you find anymore top end?

Yeh I guess we all prefer the older stuff, I feel the same about cars. Yep found the top-end, turned-out that I'd fitted a piston with only 2mm off the skirt, swapped it for an RM125S piston (and rings) with 6mm off the skirt :-)

Hi Everyone,
You have bought back fond memories John as my first full size bike was a TS 185 B and I rode the hell out of it as a teenager. Sorry no photos but I borrowed one from the net:

Thanks, a TS185B was my first reg'd bike, had an RM250B before but as soon as I got my learners, Suzuki had the 185's on special brand new for $699 I think. Rode mine to Hattah (from Frankston) on L plates and raced it, box stock. I just bought a TS185B just to have the tank for old times' sake.

did you ride it to hattah and back with same tyres you raced it with ? from frankston that is some trip 10 hours im guessing with a few fuel stops. can you imagine any young blokes of today doing that... nup.

I was 17 & 9 months, rode up with a guy on a DT400, we were both racing in the trailbike class, I rode up & raced on the trail tyres the bike came with new. The bike was box stock, rode to work on it everyday while I owned it, raced club motocross every round. Couldn't ride it home from Hattah, had a flat rear tyre for the last 100 km loop ..... a flat trail tyre flaps around like a fish outa water! Plus the tail light dropped off on one of the salt-flats; wiring harness wrapped itself around the rear wheel, thought I'd seized the engine for a sec :-)

Wouldn't you have loved to have the knowledge you have now back at 16 years old to build a hotrod race bike.
I can recall trying to clean up ports on my TM125 with a tiny little Riffler file. Didn't have any money to spend on it either but some how keep it running.

Yeh same for me, I knew nothing about porting, with a hand held angle grinder, I use to put a sharp edge back on the engaging dogs in my TM125 gearbox to stop it jumping out of gear, when I was 14. I used up a lot of Cornflake boxes doing rebuilds.
