VM38 one float higher!

What am I not considering? The floats on my OEM Kawa VM38 live in the bowl and slide up & down on posts fastened to the bottom of the fuel bowl.

With bowl off the carb body, I filled the bowl with fuel, I wanted to take a measurement of where the lift-pins sit, that lift the arms that close the needle & seat, when the bowl is full of fuel.

One float sits about 3mm higher than the other, there is no liquid in the float, they are both the same size, they both have about 1.5mm clearance from the side-wall of the bowl.

I wonder if the uneven lift pressure on the needle & seat closing arms would effect smooth needle operation?

Nope, not bent. l wonder if a different internal air pressure? Or the plastic is thicker in one?

l have another old carb here, l checked the floats in it; equal, l'll run with it :-)

Funny, I have a mate with this affliction. Apparently one is atrophied. Still made two kids though

Have not followed it up, I just switched to a pair that are equal  :-)
