84 XR500 Engine into a 84 CR500???

Have a spare xr and can get a cr without an engine.

You guys rekon it doable, any advise?

would depend if the cradle on the CR is deep enough and accepting enough for the deeper sump of the XR donk,,,remember it just wont work unless you get the counter sprocket shaft center in the same position as the CR one,,,,or a move in the exact right direction......


Might be a better option to gut the XR of unacceptable weight items Mic
,,,,,
eg;
alloy tank,,,
honkass muffler heavier than a mud filled barge,,,,
Steel swing arm,,,,

Say if you were motocrossing?     there is lots of unnecessary weight that you can cull from a XR500
I love their torque,,,short shift into chain lug and flatten them into a high revs,,,oh what a feeling  :)

And with the xr donk being dry sump there's a need to rig up a big enough oil tank as well,then make a airbox for the twin carb setup on those motorswhy not try to put the good cr suspension on your xr frame and save the head fork

nar, its spares for my one i bought brand new when i was 25.

owned it for about 8 years, tracked it down last year and found it in rocky, now registered and still a weapon....
