are the seats the same on a 89 kdx 200 as a 91 kdx 200 looking at a seat cover cheers

Yes. Graphics are different, but covers are 100% identical otherwise.

Thanks  Nathan doing up a 91  at the moment for my son he like the look of the 89 over the 91  have  the plastic tank and bigger air box plus inlet manifold  looking for a bigger carby for it  thanks jeff

That DB article is good, except for the bit about the motors being based on KX125 motors. There are similarities (conrod, gearbox) but the 200 motors were always significantly different to the KX125 motors.
The various models of KDX200 all used the same architecture: bore; stroke; rod; shaft spacing; mounting points.

It's more accurate to say that the KDX200 motor was a stand-alone design from the start, and was progressively upgraded over the years.

I found one years ago that a bloke had ridden to work for years. the motor was good, needed rings, wheel bearings brake shoes and the shock reoiled gassed etc. Ended up with a great little bike that would keep up with ktms (until it got bumpy or the rear brakes got wet). wished I hadve parked it now.

Some great reading there cant wait to get this bike up and running almost there As any heard about putting xr 250 spring in the front kdx forks ment to be a straight swap

This bike has a compliance plate, but has never been regoed.

The original owner just rode it around his property.

So no past rego papers.

Surely it must have an engine number, maybe they use invisible ink or something FIIK :-[
