« on: March 25, 2016, 01:54:57 pm »
are the MX 125, 175, 250 and 360 1974 A petrol tanks the same size as each other? ie like the DT125a, 175, 250 and 360A?
thanks in advance

hello, I have an MX250 with a MX360 tank fitted, they are identical shape & size,
I have seen an MX250 fitted with the SC500 tank, again looks the same shape & size.
not sure about the 125 & 175 tanks, although they can look identical in photos , but I think they are the same shape but scaled down slightly in size.
some DT tanks are the same shape & size but with a locking fuel cap & different fuel tap.

thanks for that your right about the DT as just now been able to compare DT250 against the 125/175 they look the same but the 125/175 is slightly differant shape undernieth and bit smaller
I suspect the MX will be the same?
any who Im after a MX250,360 or SC500 tank please, will consider 125/175

Looking at part number for the large rubber mounting that sits towards the back of the tank shows it fits 250s & 360/400s from 1973-1976 including SC500 & DTs so the smaller capacity bikes probably are different.
I couldn't see a part number for the actual tank but the emblems shown have both sized bikes with a different number depending on whether it said 250 or 360

thank you, so I was'nt the only one that cant find the tank part number's, wish I'd thought of useing the mount rubber
thank you :)
think Ill go throw the Dt 125/175 tank on the DT360A frame and see what happens.

Shelpi, the tunnel underneath the tank is narrower on the smaller ones

MX250/360 & SC500 tanks are the same except for obvious decals/paint
the MX100/125/175 tanks are the same size as each other but smaller than the big bike tanks...
you can fit a small MX tank onto the big bike with a bit of a fiddle...
cheers!

What vandy said
they 125 and 175 fit at the front but you need to move a bolt hole mount on the rear forward about an inch.
