Two young apprentices on the end of a 3/4 drive socket - 2" nut and 2 metres pipe extension on a bobcat gear box drive nut to undo. Wouldn't move!
Boss thought we were whimps! and had a go himself. No luck! Started using all different methods he had up his (older) sleeve and still no luck. So he cut the nut off!
Didn't have the heart at that point to tell him the manual said that it had to be torqued up to over 250ft/lbs.
A week later and about $500 in parts to fix bosses handy work and $500 on a torque multiplying tool and some free choice words, one apprentice had the jobs done.
It was known for quite a while that two young barred up apprentices could F#@K the boss every time. (The joke lasted for years!)
