Bearing pullers

  Need to buy a set of bearing pullers.  These are cheap and I will only use them from time to time, so anyone used them, are they ok or are they shit.

I have a sett very close to that zane
I got it through ballards , one of mine broke butt .
I went down to Bunnings and got a concrete dyna bolt that flares out when tighted this can be used to remove bearings , I use the dyna bolt now to make up for the broken one in the kit I have .

Very handy for wheel bearings. I have even used the mandrels to hold items while machining

Torpedo7 use dto be the best place to by bearing puller kits from but I just checked their website and can no longer see them listed? If you find somewhere else lettuce know......

They are a good thing for the price, and indispensable if you need them, but I am not too sure of the longevity of them.

I think there is a fair amount of Chineseium in them.

You'd need a second mortgage to afford a Snap On one I reckon.

I've not had any drama's with the MCS blind bearing pullers. They also make a wheel bearing removal kit which has had some successful enthusiastic use. I wouldn't try using the blind bearing pullers on wheel bearings or larger case bearings - use the appropriate tool for the job, sometimes add a bit of heat to help, and they will work fine.

   I purchased that set today off ebay, I think they will be worth a try, only cost $30 plus around $10 postage.

I have had one of these sets for a few years now.

Good value for money, but be aware they are made from case hardened cheese !
The tips of the pullers are not that hard and will round off easily.

even if you only use it a few times $40 is not much investment considering labour at a bike shop is much more for 1 Hour!

This isn't a puller set, but a wheel bearing knockerer outerer set.
I haven't tried it yet, just arrived. Logical concept though and I cant see why it wont be my best Motorcycle wheel bearing remover set EVER to date.

The intention is to take unnecessary stress of my more expensive expanding collet puller sets and save them for blind bearings etc, as originally intended. I don't see ever wearing this set out.

They also do blind bearings in cases like Yamaha mainshaft bearings (i.e the ones not on the clutch end).

And Clutch shaft bearings.

Which is why I bought one.

Also took it to a mate for a job on his KDX and his boss marvelled at the technology. They have a very good engimineering workshop. Wont buy one though because someone will knock it off.
