I bought trials tyres for this meeting because of this thread.
What are the best legal wheels and tyres for this meeting and what will they cost?
I have Yamaha 1977 IT250D and IT400D.
They will work and I think you will find the majority of competitors will be on them. The only options that I see are the 19'' wheel using US flat track rubber or speedway rubber. The trials tyre is easy to ride and very forgiving, they will work.

Hi GDR could you explain who was going around who last time. In the classes I rode we were all on trials uni's bar one rider who maybe pushed the limits. Don't think it did him much good though  ;)

Cheers
Shaun

Could be the riders not the tire choice
You can have the worst looking bike and tires at a meeting and a good rider will clean the feild up .

Of course you are right on the money there Mick 25. But I got the
impression that GDR was kinda implying that a particular tyre
brand or pattern was the go at Temora.

Well I rode EVO250 in 2013.

My bike was on;

Michelin Trials Uni Rear
Shinko Trials Front (probably won't be running this tyre again this year though hahaha)

Managed a first in EVO 250 and a 2nd (on count back) in EVO 250 Under 49yrs

I can tell you that I don't recall going around the outside of anyone  :)

Really all this tyre talk shits me. Just put your trials uni's on and go race FFS. Hope to see plenty of you there!

Cheers
Shaun

I agree with Shaun..........I tried quite a few times to go around the outside of people at Temora.......to no avail.....I did ALL my racing in the day on oil, however, Temora in 2013 was TOO  OILY, particularly, on the outside......tyres were not the problem......Temora Club ran a fabulous meeting.......my only suggestion for this year is, go a bit easier on the oil......then we will have more lines through the corners and better racing........ ;) 8)

inside line was the only way to go...........

We can argue for ever about tyres . If I dose not make a difference on a oil track why do the bikes that run in the TBC run road tyres ? .

I agree tyres make a huge different. But if everyone is on the same type of tyre on OEM wheels then it is not a case of who has the deepest pockets to go racing.

I have entered three bikes this year. If I have to spend around 6K on oil setups for them just to be competitive I wont bother going. I reckon most would be in the same boat.

Although it's a title meeting it is still supposed to be fun for old farts  :)

Cheers

Danger, Danger! Will Robinson.

Classic DT has yet to plunge to the depths of despair as VMX has on the website. It's generally the only section I visit and we have lost too many to piffling BS. Simple run what ya bring and have fun.
