The goofy numberplates by the back mudgaurd are origional,  they were the first thing to fall of the HL thats why so few survive.  shock lenth should be .395mm    The bike i am selling is 99% origional and unrestored and started 4th kick today after sitting in my loft for the last 10ish yrs.  Its not a beauty queen but its as you want to find them unmolested.

What dave hasnt mentioned is the bike is actually in the UK, i think.

On the subject of overly long legs, this bike was featured in an article by Super Hunky.
I forget where I found the article but some of you may be familiar with it.

Fourth photo is for comparative purposes only - Stacy Keibler has looong travel too. ;)

The YZ450F destroyed the HL in every department except for cool factor. The 4 stroke has come a loooong way since the HL and even though the HL had some serious engine work and featured trick stuff like OW forks and very trick Ohlins and is owned by one of racings most famous tuners, it was unfortunately way off the YZf's pace.

I'd hoped for a different answer but expected that one.

MXA recently did a comparison between a 92? Cr500 and a new CR450f and the gist of it was that once the test riders got used to the CR500 they were turning some good laps. Most of them seemed to want the 500 engine in the 4 stroke frame. I suppose though that the difference between those two bikes and the HL v YZ test was a bit less extreme.

Wonder which one would last the best engine wise before overhaul?
One of my bizarre passions was to build a HL type machine with an XS650 lump for go ;) Still maybe someone has done already it.

I would say the TT500 engine would last way longer.. Less revs and less moving parts(single cam, etc.)

A bit like this one? I've seen it at Nudgee a few times - it's pretty quick!
