For sale genuine HL500 1978

I have for sale a genuine NVT built 1978 HL500, matching eng frame numbers. ITI.   100 pecent complete and runs very sweet. Unused last 15 years. I will be putting it on ebay .com   this week  . Will ship worldwide at buyers cost.

Do these three have abnormally long suspension or is that typical HL?
It's a serious question; I'm not too familiar with these bikes.
They look a tad ungainly - much like a woman in high heels who can't really walk in high heels.

The bike in the first pic looks particularly goofy - I'm guessing its due to the thick red stripe on the original side plate, extra rear number-plates and overly-long rear guard. The bike in the last pic is the most original, and it (to my eyes) easily the best looking of the four shown (even though red handgrips make baby Jesus cry).

Yeah, I like the fourth photo as well. It looks in proportion - long legs, but in proportion.

It could be the way the picture was taken but some how I dont think so. The swingarm looks to be on more of an angle and the rear guard makes the back wheel look like a 17". I think the rear shocks could be a little to long for my likings which make the whole bike look out of shape, but then I dont own it, but if I did I would think its cool.

Bike from UK looks to have the best proportion of them all. Bike with red hand grips and guard dog keeping watch looks good too. That first bike with number 1 on sideplate 

Come on DJ,  if you owned it I bet it would be corrected quick smart and look great.

To be honest Quicky, I dont think I would even be able to reach the footpegs so reaching the ground on that bike is just out of the question, so just so I could ride it I would have to lower the thing to get on it or put a carrier on the back so I could have a stepladder with me at all times.

Here's my friend Bens 2 HLs in the UK. One is a GMC replica, the other a genuine NV bike. I can't remember which is which. That Florida HL (#1) with the Fournales shocks is bloody ridiculous. These bikes were built in 77-78 and were never mean't to have that sort of suspension travel. That bike'd be a pig to ride. The yellow UK Pro Fab bike is more like it should be.

I spotted this sweet TT500 with some tasteful and sensible mods at CD5. With taste, lateral thinking and a bit of nouse, the stock framed bikes can be made to look and work well.

The ones in firko's first post look right. The earlier ones reminded me of one of these, but not as well put together
